We are continuing an Epiphany tradition we started three years ago in my church. On Saturday evening, we will have an Epiphany party with games, crafts, and the ever-popular round-robin singing of the "Twelve Days." This year, we will make scented gifts and large star and king puppets for processional. On Sunday morning, we will use all of these things in an Intergenerational Worship Service.

I am struggling to put together a message for all ages - aka a multi-point children's sermon style message with props. I have been trying to think about what ways we, like the Magi, go looking for Christ and what sort of Epiphanies we have. One way, it seems to me, is through such spiritual disciplines as prayer, worship, and service. What are the "stars" that lead us on our path and are there any "Herods" of which we need to be wary?

It is still early in the week, but I would welcome anyone else's ideas in this area!
